Changing the world is not an impossible dream.
By 2050, more Christians will be living in Africa than any continent on Earth. His Voice Global has been raising up leaders among the vulnerable in East Africa for nearly two decades because we not only see the importance of integrative care and leadership development, but also the call of Africans for worldwide impact. By offering access to holistic change and giving the vulnerable the opportunity to thrive, you have the chance to be a part of redeeming, restoring, and renewing the broken.
We know you want to make a meaningful difference with the time and resources you’ve been blessed with. There are hundreds of millions of people in the world who are hurting, and it feels obvious that making a real impact involves more than writing a check or donating to your local homeless shelter.
At His Voice Global, we believe we can change the world together when one person gives what they can to help someone else who is suffering. By offering access to holistic change and giving the vulnerable a voice, you have the chance to be a part of redeeming, restoring, and renewing the broken.
HERE’S THE PROBLEM: MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW WHERE THE MOST VULNERABLE PEOPLE ARE OR HOW THEY CAN HELP.
For almost 20 years, it’s been His Voice Global’s mission to redeem, restore, and renew individuals, families, and communities who have endured intense suffering and hopelessness in some of the most difficult to reach places on the planet.
When you partner with His Voice Global, your time and money goes directly to raising up leaders among the vulnerable to be fully alive and fully flourishing through our four programs:
Our Story
His Voice Global raises up leaders among the vulnerable, transforming lives with a sustainable, whole-person approach. After two decades, we’ve seen lives changed and communities flourishing.
With the belief that all nations are called to all nations and a goal of seeing multiple generations redeemed, restored, and renewed, His Voice Global is just getting started.
His Voice Global began when two individuals, Vern and Amber Burger, who had not yet met, were drawn to serve the vulnerable people they encountered on separate trips to Africa.
When they later crossed paths as interns for a church in Houston, Vern and Amber quickly realized they shared a calling to go and serve overseas — it was meant to be. In 2003, they were married and preparing to move to South Sudan to start an orphan care ministry, but political and social unrest squelched their plans.
After the border to South Sudan closed, the Burgers shifted gears. Instead of crossing the Atlantic, they crossed Texas and landed in Midland. As the Burgers dreamed of ways to support South Sudan from where they were, the community around them was enamored by their passion and calling, and began to get involved. With this community support, The Burgers built an orphanage in Sudan in 2005 — along with a school, a medical clinic, and a church — even before they’d officially set up their nonprofit.
In 2007, His Voice for Sudan was created and one year later, in 2008, a second orphanage was built.
Through the creation of sustainable jobs for widows and caring for orphans beyond just their physical needs, by 2010, His Voice for Sudan became His Voice Global and was seeing communities around it begin to flourish.
Now, almost 20 years later, the children we welcomed into our first orphanage are thriving adults using their own voices to create change in their communities — but just knowing what works is not enough.
As we look forward to the future, our goal remains the same - to raise leaders among the vulnerable.
We do this now through four programs: Thrive, Arise, Alive, and Shine — each supporting our mission of redeeming, restoring and renewing communities.
From financial support to advocacy to joining the His Voice Global staff, we hope others will join this mission to change the trajectory of every vulnerable woman and child globally, raising up leaders who will literally change the world.
