Great Opportunities for Lasting Impact – Meet Cheserina
We would love to introduce to you one of our participants in our Shine Program, Cheserina. While Cheserina is limited in her movement, the one limb she is able to use is her right arm. Cheserina has made a life for herself and has been able to care for her family by using her one good arm to make gravel. She takes her hammer and smashes up rocks all day and then sells the gravel in the market. She is a true leader. As we seek to raise up leaders among the vulnerable, we have been able to come along side Cheserina and provide for her new housing that is better equipped for her particular handicap, get her some new hammers for her work. Being in the Shine program she has received holistic care and her family has become a light in their community. Watch this video as our founder, Dr. Vernon Burger, introduces you to her.
Coming to Midland!
Alongside Stonegate Fellowship Church, we will be hosting a His Voice Global Experience on October 1st at 6 p.m. If you are in the west Texas area we would love for you to come out. This is a unique opportunity for you to hear in a smaller setting about our 4 programs and spend time praying over each area. Come and enjoy some food and fellowship with us! The Reeces in route!
The Reece family is in route to Arua and about to settle into life in Uganda. They have joined our staff team and will be our newest Family Mentors, serving our Thrive Students as they navigate college life. We are thrilled for all that God is going to do in and through them as they serve in Arua.
