His Voice October News

At His Voice, our Vision Statement is: Relationships Restored. Communities Renewed. It’s the first thing you see on our website. But as followers of Jesus, how do we see Him demonstrating this concept, and how can we best follow His lead?

In Luke chapter 5, a man covered with leprosy came to Jesus, fell on his face on the ground, and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” And Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man, saying, “I am willing. Be clean.” Then Jesus ordered him, “Don’t tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”

As a leper, the man in the story would not just be regarded as having a contagious disease. According to the laws given in the time of Moses, he was to cover his upper lip and cry out “Unclean, unclean” and live alone, outside the camp. Outside the community. Ostracized. So, what did the leper mean when he asked Jesus to make him clean? We believe he was asking if Jesus had the desire to not only heal his disease, but also to restore his relationships and renew his standing in the community. He wanted Jesus to remove his shame and restore his honor.

Our mission at His Voice Global is to do whatever we can to restore a right relationship with God, self, others, and creation in the lives of those God has given into our care.

From the heartbreak of the broken family to the reunification of family with community. From the uncertainty of abandonment to the safety of housing, care, and education. From the hopelessness of unemployment to the satisfaction of knowing and using a useful trade. This is what we believe we have learned from Jesus and have been called to put into action among his children in South Sudan, Uganda, and Kenya.

As we enter into the final quarter of the year, we still have much left to do. We invite you to participate by praying for us in this endeavor as we seek the Lord’s direction. We appreciate your support, as we follow the direction of our Lord to restore relationships and renew communities. We know that if we do our part, our Lord is able and willing to do what only He can do.

Gratefully,
