New Year, new opportunity
As we welcome in the new year, we find that the Lord is already vividly directing us to new opportunities to serve the vulnerable in East Africa. In today's first video, co-founders Vernon & Amber Burger talk about some of those opportunities and how the Lord is directing us to serve. We don't fully know the challenges of the coming year, but we can be certain of the ability of our Lord to meet the coming need. May God bless you as we join together in service of His Kingdom in 2022.

This year we are rolling out our new integrative care program: Shine. There has been a wide open door for us to reach an extremely vulnerable population in Northern Uganda right near the Arise Center. We are able to provide clean water, medical care, food, and shelter/home repairs for hundreds of families who have a family member with disabilities. We see this ministry expanding to other vulnerable people, so we named this ministry Shine as we hope to be a bright light to the most destitute in East Africa.
Shine is our only "new" program, but this year you will see that we are implementing new names for our current programs to help streamline our work.
Our Student Discipleship/Family Mentoring program will now be called Thrive, as it is our heart that these young adults are launched into the world and thrive in whatever scenario they are faced with.
Our Discipleship Training, which currently uses the Foundation of Hope curriculum and will be adding more curriculum as we expand, will now be called Alive, as it is our desire to see everyone ALIVE in Christ.
Our Arise Discipleship and Retreat Center will keep the beautiful name Arise, but you will notice we will just be calling it The Arise Center. Our hope is that it will be used by God in tremendous ways.

Thanks to your financial support, we were able to meet all of our financial obligations, and establish a firm basis for moving the ministry forward in 2022. We are thankful to God for His provision of finances, but also for giving us your friendship and your partnership in this ministry!
