His Voice August News

Where has the summer gone?

Oh, I know there are still five weeks until the official start of fall. And, if you live in the southern part of the U.S., especially in Texas, you are certainly still feeling the summer heat! Regardless, there is a definite sense of anticipation in the air. School is starting for kids of all ages. Teachers have already reported, and school supplies are being purchased. Band practice is underway for high school kids. Can football be far behind?

At His Voice, God has given us much to anticipate. He has provided three full-time missionary couples, the Elkins, Wards, and the Harpers who serve faithfully in Arua, Uganda. Many of our partners have been able to hear about our ministry plans in Uganda directly from Mike and Megan Elkins as they have been spending some time in the U.S. on home leave recently. In addition, Asiki Emma, one of “our own” students has graduated from International University of East Africa with a degree in Business Administration and has joined the His Voice ministry team as a full-time employee!

We are so proud of these godly servant leaders, and we look with great anticipation to the further development of not only our college students, but also the younger students in Yei, South Sudan who are being given a Christian education thanks to our partnership with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church there.

Would you like to help? Financial assistance is still needed to complete the classrooms being built in Yei, and also for the Education Fund that has been established to help with tuition for our university and trade school students in Uganda. With your help, we can continue to provide a bright future for these students and empower them to do the same for those around them. As you are able, would you contribute to that future today?

With much anticipation,

Vernon & Amber Burger
